Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Here you will be able to obtain answers to some of the most frequently asked questions or concerns on TalentLMS.


1. How do I log into TalentLMS? 

    Your username is the same as your City of Atlanta email.

    Ex.: City email is jdoe@atlantaga.gov; 

            Username: jdoe or jdoe@atlantaga.gov

    You password will be Welcome123! if you have never logged in before. 

    If you have, and you have forgotten your password, you can reset your own  password by clicking "Forgot Password" or     contact DWMTraining@AtlantaGA.gov to have it reset. 

2. Who do I contact if I have issues with TalentLMS or any of my classes?

3. How do I register for instructor-led training (webinars/in person)?

    Each class is set up differently. Some classes are considered blended learning and may have modules that must be     completed before attending a webinar or an in-person training. Generally, students can follow the steps outlined in the     Registration Guide in the Menu options. 

4. How do I update my profile picture and information. 


    Once you have logged in, navigate to your profile type menu     (found next to your name). Select My Info from the drop down     menu. This will take you to your profile, where you can select a     picture from your files and update your profile information (as     needed). 


    From this menu, you can also view your:

- Courses                    - Groups

- Certifications          - Branches

- Progress                   - Files

4. How do I update my profile picture and information. 


    Once you have logged in, navigate to your profile type menu     (found next to your name). Select My Info from the drop down     menu. This will take you to your profile, where you can select a     picture from your files and update your profile information (as     needed). 


    From this menu, you can also view your:

5. How do I contact my instructor regarding class information or retaking an exam?

    - Select Messages from the Menu at the top of the screen.
    - Then select Send Message
    - In the Recipients field, type the name of the course you are         referring to (see pictured example). 
    - If there are two options, ALWAYS select the one that says         "Only Instructor".
    - Type your message. Be sure to include the course name in         either the Subject line or within the body of the message. 


     **Be mindful that if you select just the class name in the     Recipients list, you could be sending an email to the entire     Department of Watershed Management.***

5. How do I contact my instructor regarding class information or retaking an exam?

    - Select Messages from the Menu at the top of the screen.

6. How do I register for classes like Microsoft Excel or PowerPoint?

    These are considered soft skills courses. Use the Soft Skills Registration link on the Menu row at the top of the screen. If not     logged in, this link is readily visible. When logged in, the link can be found on the More drop down menu.


    You must use a Google account to complete this form. If you only have a personal Google account or do not have access to     your City Google account, it is fine. You may use your personal account. No information is being collected from your account     on our behalf. 


    Once you fill out the form, a representative from the DWM Training Team will contact you to confirm your registration to     the class. Due to the volume of courses that some may request, please allow up to a week for confirmation. 

7. How do I know if a course is required or not? 

    Typically the classes that have been automatically added to     your dashboard are required for you. Therefore, the admin     team pushed them out to either the entire Department or a     subset group. 


    However, most classes will also have an indicator on them that     lets you know if the course is required. When selecting a     course, the Requirement Status field will display one of three     indicators:

        - Requires Course (General) = for all DWM employees

        - Require Course (Position Specific) = for employees who             have to utilize the tool or operate in the function             that is described in the training.

        - Optional = anyone can take the course but it is not a             requirement for the job.


    ***Some courses that are optional may be required by your Management team. So please be sure to contact your supervisor to discuss courses that are automatically added to your dashboard.***

TalentLMS can be downloaded from both the     App Store (for iOS users) and the Play Store (for Android users).     TalentLMS is a cloud-based software, so it can be used on any     device. The first time you log in, you will need to enter the     domain: COAWatershed. If you do not know your username     and password, please contact DWM-Training@AtlantaGA.gov
