The
DWM University is the Department’s method of providing each employee with the
training they need to adequately function in their job roles. The University
provides educational formats that include:
ØInstructor-led
courses which:
§are
facilitated by either DWM staff members or vendors,
§include
lectures, interactive games, group assignments, and/or practical exercises, and
§are
taught either in-person or via virtual webinar.
ØE-Learning/Self-Paced
– the employees can log in to the software and take the courses at their own
pace.
ØOff-Site
– these are courses that are conducted by vendors at a location outside of the
Department of Watershed Management. We can utilize TalentLMS to track these
courses for reporting purposes.
With
that being said, TalentLMS
provides a bevy of ways to consolidate, facilitate, and track the training that
is being provided to our employees. It can also be useful in the tracking of
the distribution of documents, such as standard operating procedures, PPBs
(Policy and Procedure Bulletins), and City-wide policies.
